First off, I will apologize. I just unloaded my camera so this is the first of a few posts full of photos from me :look:
So as with everything I do, my first (and only so far) Vinylmation custom has a story. When I heard about the D-Street opening at WDW, I thought I'd go check it out. At the time, I wasn't really into Vinylmation but I wanted that darn Nested Doll. While I was waiting in line, they were taking volunteers to design a vinyl with an artist. I said, sure why not?, and bought a white CYO. I sat down with the artist, sadly I don't remember who anymore, and he asked me what I wanted to design.
D-Street opened on April 16th, 2010. The third anniversary of the massive shooting at Virginia Tech, my alma mater. I was a student at the time at Virginia Tech, but I was on the college program in Orlando in the spring of 2007 at Downtown Disney. While that's a totally other story, I will say that the support I had from my fellow cast members and the company on that horrible day is what led to me moving to Orlando after I graduated. So it was like coming full circle for me.
So, I was wearing my Hokie shirt and I explained this to the artist. He helped me design this little guy. Originally he was done with sharpies on the spot but he looked so sad so I dug out some of my paints from my pony customizing supplies and went to work!

His paint job isn't as clean as I'd like, but he was done quickly and with love. He has the VT logo on the front and the orange ribbon on the back.
He even has a friend! I was on staff for the My Little Pony Fair in 2007 and every year they picked a charity to donate too. That year, they picked the VT survivor fund. I was so touched. They held a custom raffle with VT themed customs with all donations going to the charity. Since I was on the college program until a month or two before the event, I couldn't get a custom done in time but I still made one to show my thanks and support to everyone. Here she is with her new Vinylmation friend

I just realized that last pic was a bit blurry. Oops?
If you stuck through all that, thanks. I like to write, can you tell?
