3" Characters in Flight

Hey guys, here's my latest.

I decided to use the Chinese theater silhouette instead of the hat. I also included a hidden Mickey!

My hand, black paint and a very fine point paint brush. All free-hand, although I wish I would have drawn it out in pencil first so that I would have gotten better spacing in between characters.

Wow. I see the real thing several times a week and you nailed it! The colors are spot on.

For a second I thought the Chinese Theatre was Cirque du Solei, which would have worked really well too. Cirque, water tower (House of Blues) and a giant pineapple (Bongos) would have been really funny to see. :lol:

This is one of my favorite Customs I've seen. The details on the balloon is amazing. It's even more amazing with it being a 3".

Thanks! I gotta be honest, I've been sitting on this one for a while. I painted the background colors 3-4 weeks ago, but I've been afraid to do the silhouettes thinking I'd mess them up....I kind of surprised myself at how good it came out. :lol:

I'm tempted. My hubby suggested I try to sell some to help pay for my addiction, but I'm out of blanks now. I might have to order a bunch more after my next payday. :lol:

Selling them is a good way to buy more, ive done it for years. Im sure you would get $30+ for it.

I use the Apple Barn acrylic. You can get it at Michael's and even some Wal Marts (although WM only has some basic primary colors). I'll have to get back with you on the brush. It was the tiniest one I could fine at Michael's, but I don't remember the exact style/size etc. I'll check when I get home for you!

Thanks guys! I'm actually working on more of these to try to sell. They're not finished yet and I haven't decided on a price. It may be a few weeks before they're done because I work full-time and take night classes. I'll post a "for sale" thread once they're ready. Thanks for all of your compliments!

Nope, it was a plain white blank. If I ever got my hands on a Balloon Chaser, I'd hold on to that thing for dear life.....and probably put it in some type of high-tech case with an electric fence-type guard around it. :lol:
