New Parade Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Disney/Pixar fans, we’ve got some great news to share today. The entertainment team at Walt Disney World Resort is in the midst of developing a new parade for Disney’s Hollywood Studios featuring some favorite Pixar pals. While details are still being worked out, we do know that four Pixar characters not currently seen at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Remy and Emile from “Ratatouille” and Carl and Russell from Disney/Pixar’s “Up” – will be added to the lineup.

For those who want to be sure to celebrate the last dance with their favorites from Block Party Bash, make sure to mark January 1 for the final performance. The new show is scheduled to open January 16. Keep your eye on the blog for more future parade updates.

Its not that I don't like them they just went cheap and don't seem to be as good as previous parades! Every time something new comes out, its suppose to put the old to shame! Well when Celebrate A Street Party came out (similar to Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Parade at the Magic Kingdom) it definitely didn't put the Walt Disney's Parade Of Dreams to shame it made it look 10 times better! So ever since I have just stopped watching Disneyland parades! I kind of like Pixar Play Parade at California Adventures! :)

Exciting! I really do love the Block Party Bash, but I just can't get into watching it over and over like I can other parades.
I hope they incorporate some regular Disney character's besides Pixar in there too!

I'm not a big parade person either, but I love Block Party Bash. I mean, sure, I love just about anything that offers free Nerf balls, but I really do enjoy the energy of the show. It makes the Electrical Parade look like a bucket of ... chum. And, and ... the Nerf balls!

Wait, a compromise! If the Nerf balls make it into the new parade, I'll sign off. Somebody get Bob Iger on the phone. :D

I really love the end of BPB during the winter months; seeing that deluge of Nerf balls come over the wall is just a really cool sight. Plus, how often can you get something for free at Disney? Especially something that doubles as squeezable stress relief, delivered at a time of day when patience can start to run thin?

Great idea! I think I've got about half a dozen, one each in the four colors, and then whatever else. I was trying to fill an empty pretzel jar, but I kind of slacked off; I guess I'll have to start dropping by Studios to try to finish! I'd actually be closer to completion, but I can't resist giving one to a kid who really wanted one but didn't catch any. Damn my altruistic intentions! :)

Me too. I'm not sure how it classifies as a parade when it stops in 1 (ok, 2) place for the entire show. It does have a lot of energy and the nerf balls are cool, but I'd still like something where my view changes over the duration of the "show".

Not yet, but every performance takes us one day closer to the end. The last BPB will be on New Year's Day. I'm totally with you on being bummed, but I guess it's sort of sunk in by now. :pout:

Might as well enjoy the performances that are left, right?

I love/hated Block Party Bash. It was fun to see all my favorite Pixar characters and I loved the energy but when it's 90 degrees out, it makes me hate it. I'll be down there next week so maybe I'll check out the new parade if it's on schedule

Thanks for posting the video of the parade! I really love the Disney parades & make sure that I see them all (I know some people don't like them, but I really love them all!)

I'm not thrilled with this parade. I don't like how they just used the floats from the Block Party Bash & changed a few things here & there. Even the girls/guys costumes are the same as Block Party Bash. I wish they had different music too. I guess I'll wait until I see it in person to really make a completely judgment of it. lol

However, that being said, my son (who is almost 3 yrs old) watched the video with me & he was just thrilled!!! He clapped almost the whole time, was dancing to the music, and pointed out each character that he recognized...which was almost every single one. He was thrilled to see the UP characters as well as Remy! They are great additions for him because they are some of his favorite characters!!! His favorite float was still Monsters Inc though :-)

The only thing that I don't like about the parade is the music being one loop of the Monsters Inc. Unit from the Pixar Play Parade. I wish they would have used all the music instead of just one track.

That Toy Story one posted would be exclusive to DHS if used since it was not used in Play Parade. The Toy Story Soundtrack was "You've Got a Friend in Me" and not "Toys are back in town".

Also Monsters Inc.'s Unit for DHS would still be bang on my drum all day since that is the song played for our Monsters unit in DCA. Up would probably have to share this with Monsters Inc. considering that we know TDO won't come up with their own music. haha
