From France24.com:

AFP - Europe's top tourist attraction Euro Disney is on Tuesday to extend its partnership deal with the French state to 2030, enlarging the theme park and eyeing eight billion euros in extra investment.

The amended deal gives Euro Disney the right to build a third theme park "in the long term," the company said in a statement, and extends the size of the current site from 1,943 hectares to 2,230 hectares.

Euros Disney, which says it contributes over six percent of foreign tourist revenue in France, will also develop a project with the Pierre & Vacances group based on sustainable development for an investment of 1.8 billion euros.

"Les Village Nature de Val d'Europe," to the east of Paris, will include a lake and forest as well as 7,000 hotel beds, the financial daily Les Echos reported.

The company said its new projects would create around 70,000 direct and indirect jobs at its sites, which have been visited by 215 million people since 1992.

Here is the press release from the Euro Disney/Disneyland Paris website:

I too plan to visit all the parks. :)

But on a more on-topic note, did anyone else have trouble understanding parts of that article? Oh, and I thought it hadn't been called Euro Disney in years!

Yeah, there are a couple of things that I don't really get. I'm assuming it's either something lost in translation or just the language barrier. But I get the gist of it is that DLP is approved for expansion!

 Oh, and I thought it hadn't been called Euro Disney in years!

I was wondering the same thing about this one.

I would love to visit all the Disney theme parks around the world but EuroDIsney doesn't really thrill me, it's the worst out of all the parks (financially speaking) and the press isn't too hot about it. The top of my list is Tokyo Disneyland/Tokyo Disneysea

I thought it hadn't been called Euro Disney in years!

Well the name "Eurodisney SCA" still exists. It's the name of the company that owns the parks and that manages them.

As for the parks itself : the name has already changed several times.
It started in 1992 as Euro Disney, than it changed in 1994 into Disneyland Paris, afterwards they changed the name to Disneyland Resort Paris (2002) and now it's again Disneyland Paris.

I thought the name was Disneyland Paris but then thought I was wrong. The reason why they changed the name is because everyone thought it was somewhere else in Europe but then when people found out it was in Paris everyone was like, "umm.....ok" At least I think thats the story though I could be 1504058472049 times wrong

EuroDisney is considering building a Marvel-themed superheroes theme park after signing a fresh 20-year pact with the French government, the owners of the undeveloped land surrounding the parks.

Euro Disney ponders superheroes theme park

EuroDisney is considering building a Marvel-themed superheroes theme park after signing a fresh 20-year pact with the French government, the owners of the undeveloped land surrounding the parks.

In the latest deal with the French government, the deadline by which Euro Disney would have to develop the land has been extended from 2017 to 2030, to provide the time needed to construct a third theme park.

Philippe Gas, the chief executive of Euro Disney, said one idea for a third park is "a superheroes park" following the acquisition of Marvel by Disney - although the construction of a third park is a long-term vision. Mr Gas said there is a possibility that a decision to build a third park could come as late as 2020, although it may come earlier if planned work on the Disney Studios park is completed.

The French government originally gave consent for Disneyland Paris to be built on the condition that Disney would only buy pockets of land in stages once previous plots have been developed. It was France's first regional development public-private partnership.

Euro Disney said earlier this year that it had made €47m from the sale of land to French commercial property group Klepierre and French insurer AXA.
Under the new agreement, French authorities have simultaneously agreed to increase the number of hectares available for Euro Disney to develop, from 1,943 to 2,230.

WDW can't do anything in the parks as far as attractions go until the current deal between Marvel and Universal expires.

I hadn't even thought about a super heroes expansion in DLP. It makes sense. It doesn't fall under the restrictions placed on the Marvel/Universal deal and it's a good time to do it with the rising popularity in super heroes. I just hope that if they do go that route, they'll do more thrill rides. I don't see an Iron Man dark ride doing well.

Yay! :D

I'm not much of a fan of Marvel or superheroes, but atleast more money is going to DLP! I prefer it to the Magic Kingdom (not without drawbacks: no Splash or Peoplemover) because it is the most magical.

Now that I think about it, it would also be a good chance for them to bring The Incredibles into the parks more! Since they're extremely popular and a Disney/Pixar property, it would be a pretty good fit! True, the style is much differentl from Marvel, but I think Disney fans who aren't exatly super hero fans would appreciate some Disney in the area.

.......maybe even bring in some Darkwing Duck? (although I won't get my hopes too high with that one).

Just read about this in the telegraph online, good news and a marvel park will be great. The section in Universal's IoA is brilliant so Disney will be able to bring something good to the table; but i never realised that just a few years ago Euro Disney was close to going under, a big shock cause i thought it would have been a huge money spinner based on the crazy prices they charged for some stuff in hotels - 9euros for a bag of malteasers!!
