The WDCC has been around since 1992 and I'm sure most of you have seen them while at the parks and The Art of Disney Store in DTD and even Disneystore.com.

My collection is boxed away since right now since I do not have room to properly display them.
That still does not keep me from picking up a few pieces every now and then :)

Here is the latest addition to my collection. The detail is amazing.
I love all the little creepy crawlers. Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Nice piece you both have.
I'm also a collector in need of a proper display, so all my pieces are also still boxed.

I have to many pieces to put a picture of each, but here you can see all I'm having : http://cid-03b73c649e228253.photos.live.com/browse.aspx/WDCC

Ann that is an impressive collection. I like how you keep an inventory of it.
That is a great idea that I may have to borrow from you.
Thanks for sharing

I love the Trick or Treat series :)

Its in my local mall, next time Im board Im going to go over and take inventory, see how much each piece is. There is alot of Single figures. No crazy sets or stuff I really wanted, like the Hitch Hiking Ghost set.

i like how the they put the smallest of detail down to the worms on the base. Great collects everyone. Haunted do you have time with the new baby to get bored? Take the little one out for a walk to the mall, get used to it dad, have to take her there.

This is something I am really looking forward to seeing. Not sure if it will find itself
into my collection since I have been spending all of my $$ on vinyls.

TIM BURTON’S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS Deviltry, singing skeletons, and undersea mayhem make things merrily macabre as the demented denizens of Halloweentown welcome their Pumpkin King in their own wonderfully warped way. While sweet rag doll Sally looks on amidst the eerily animated bony band of the vocalizing Skeleton Tree, (plussed with pewter and real rope cord) the delighted Devil (plussed with pewter tail and feet) and the charmingly repellent Undersea Gal (plussed with pewter arms and neck) give Jack the highest compliment possible: he made flesh crawl! Behind the scenes, the puppet kings (and queens) animated 227 individual characters for the grisly engrossing tale, leading to the creepy characters celebrated by these ghoulishly spook-tacular sculptures.
Sally with Skeleton Tree: Otherworldly Ovation. Numbered Limited Edition 750

I was an avid WDCC collector at one point and somewhere within the past few years, the value of the collection has MAJORLY declined. Its almost like a car, the minute you drive it off the lot, the value drops. The ones I own, I love and that is the only reason I still have some. Some pieces do keep their value such as convention pieces or even the NBC ones (since they have a huge following), but recently, you could easily get these pieces discounted. At one point, they were at TJ Max. A lot of the blame has to do with the way they were managed. I really don't think Enesco really knew how to handle the collection the minute they took it over from Disney. Since they took over, the Walt Disney Collector's Society was suspended and most of the pieces ended up retired and in liquidation. You can tell the quality difference from the older pieces to the newer ones has gradually declined as well. Most of the pieces now are produced in small editions of 500 to 1000 with some open ended editions and yet they still sit on shelves and I saw a few that were limited to 500 over at TJ Max last year. The height of this collection, in my opinion, occurred somewhere between 1997 and 2002/3. That's just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love the collection, but I literally went from buying every single piece to hardly buying anything at all simply because its very discouraging to see what its become from what it once was. The point is, collect it cause you love it, for what its worth to you.

On a brighter note.....the NBC pieces are wonderful, especially the original Jack, Sally, Zero, Dr. Finklstein, Lock, Shock, Barrell, Oogie Boogie, and Mayor. The Lock, Shock, and Barrell ones were once very hard to come by since they retired them soon after they were released. They use to go for about $200 a piece on eBay, but I think you can get them much cheaper now. I LOVE that set and would recommend it to any fan of NBC.

It was great while it was not being handled by Enesco :(
I still buy one or two a year if the design is something that appeals to me. Nothing compared to what it was, like you said, years ago but every now and then they will put out a piece like the Sally above that I want.

There is also a Christmas Carol Ebenezer/Marley piece that I want :)

Yes....I did buy that one. Most of the pieces done by Ruben are amazing and I have been waiting for them to do Christmas Carol pieces for years, but I still miss the scenes with individual pieces that they use to make. For example, the Little Mermaid Under The Sea scene is one of my favorites from the collection.

She'll love it when she sees it, she just doesn't know I ordered it yet. I get 20% off anything that my local comic shop can order, so I had to get it. It'll go nicely with the rest of her tinks in a detolf that's pretty much full. Time to buy another!

My collection is very small and in boxes at the moment :(
I have the 101 Dalmatian series (not all), Beauty and Beast dancing, Oogie Boogie, Zero's house, and a few others that I don't really remember.
Maybe it's time to go through the boxes and inventory

I'm collecting mostly Villains, and I'm eagerly awaiting Yzma that should come out soon...well I hope.
In Europe the new piece are very slow to arrive... when Tiana came out in September 2009 in the USA, we were supposed to get her in November .....then it was pushed back to March so I decided to buy it on Ebay......then it was pushed back again to June ...and then to September 2010.... and now we're almost in November and we still haven't got it....
It's a pity for European collectors and in DLRP the WDCC shelves are quite empty....

I use to collect WDCC, which I might go back again, lol. The last piece I bought was the Haunted Mansion 999 Event WDCC Oragnist which is limited to 500, I can't remember what's my number. I still wanna get the Hitchhicking Ghost one. But the two piece that I really, really, really would love to have is the Maleficent Dragon WDCC and Chernabog WDCC. That's like my "holy grail" lol. I think when I get back fully into it, I'll concentrate on the Villains first, but there are others that I like.

Funny how her sitting on the same leaf (more or less) was $99, and this variation is $26 higher. Heh. Of the newer stuff, I most want the Cash Register Concerto (Scrooge) piece, but will need to find it at a steep discount. Paying $199 for that is just not going to happen.

As for NBC, do you mean waiting for your dealer to get it in? Because I know that piece is already out; several people already have it. One dealer apparently reported a packing issue with it that causes the skeletons to break in some cases, so this may be Milkweed Ballerinas Part 2 where they have to remake them and then create new packaging as well. Enesco never learns. :bonk:

On a side note, will try and take some pics of some of my collection tomorrow and upload and post them. I have a lot of WDCC, and wish I could own more. Space is too much of an issue though.

In which case, hope you get it soon! And in one piece, too!

My goal is to eventually have a complete IASW collection, all of the Donald pieces, all of the Scrooge pieces, and all of the Little Mermaid original "Under the Sea" pieces, with some others thrown in.

My ultimate dream would be to own every piece ever made except for NBC pieces (I don't like that type of movie; too creepy for me), but since I am not a millionaire, that won't be happening. Unless I hit the lotto!
