As they say in the digital world of TRON, “Greetings, Programs!” Today, we’re sharing concept art that gives you a first look at the new party we’re calling ElecTRONica. I’m told it’s the greatest nighttime dance party to ever rock Disney California Adventure park.
Beginning October 8, the interactive, digital world of “TRON: Legacy” will light up Hollywood Pictures Backlot as we gear up for the film’s release on December 17. This will be a cool opportunity to peek inside the world of this movie, and it’s available only to visitors of Disney California Adventure park.

It’s an “electrifying” experience for the entire family, filled with music, lights and some of your favorite food and beverage, all set amidst the captivating world of “TRON: Legacy!” From a dazzling dance club under the stars to an authentic recreation of Flynn’s Arcade to some radical gaming, it’s like nowhere else on the grid! Each night, we’ll feature live entertainers, complete with lasers, glow accessories and the hottest music ever to rock the grid. ElecTRONica is “the” place to dance the night away in a fantastic world that only Disney can create. Highlights for the entire family will definitely be Flynn’s Video Arcade, face painting and the TRON: Evolution video game area.
ElecTRONica will transform Disney California Adventure park Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays this Fall. TRON fans and families can also enjoy the party seven days a week during Thanksgiving week and Christmas week.

A nighttime street party debuting this fall at Disney California Adventure will be tied to the upcoming “Tron: Legacy“ film and will feature sci-fi themed music, dancers and cocktails.

An open call by Disney Auditions looking for hip-hop dancers with martial arts experience, said rehearsals would begin in early September for the new “Tron” nighttime event in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot and the Sun Plaza entrance hub.

Beginning Oct. 8, ElecTRONica will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through the end of the year and daily during Thanksgiving week and Christmas week in advance of the much-anticipated movie.

ElecTRONica replaces the surprise hit Glow Fest, a booze-fueled dance party scheduled to run through Aug. 22 at DCA. A Disney-fied version of a psychedelic rave, Glow Fest was designed to keep visitors entertained this summer while they waited for the Anaheim theme park’s popular new World of Color nighttime water show to begin.

As part of the ElecTRONica event, the former “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” soundstage may be converted into a neon-illuminated Flynn’s Arcade modeled on the video arcade in “Tron: Legacy” while the former Hollywood & Dine food court could receive an End of the Line Club makeover based on the futuristic nightclub in the film, according to Screamscape.

If the “Tron” franchise reboot turns into a sequel-inducing blockbuster, Flynn’s Arcade could take up permanent residence in the video arcade next to Space Mountain in Disneyland, according to Blue Sky Disney. Similarly, Walt Disney Imagineers have been quietly storyboarding a still embryonic “Tron: Legacy” E-Ticket ride envisioned for 2015 or beyond in Tomorrowland, Blue Sky Disney reported.

Disney California Adventure plans to debut an exclusive 3D clip from the upcoming “Tron: Legacy” movie during its new entertainment feature next month. The movie clip will be part of ElecTRONica, a dance party and performance based on the “Tron: Legacy” movie in the park’s Hollywood Pictures Backlot, Disney announced Wednesday. “Tron: Legacy Exclusive 3-D Sneak Peek” will be shown in the theater where Muppet*Vision 3D usually appears, said John McClintock, a Disneyland Resort spokesman. The movie clip was created specifically for Disney California Adventure. It’s longer than a movie preview and similar to one shown at Comic Con International.

ElecTRONica is scheduled to begin Oct. 8, more than two months before the movie comes out in theaters Dec. 17.

“Tron: Legacy” is the sequel to the 1982 film about the video game world. ElecTRONica is part of a marketing push by Walt Disney Co., which began promotions about three and a half years before the movie’s release date.

So, I posted a question last week: what do aliens, gorillas, and bugs all have in common? What if I asked what do Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, and Centipede all have in common? Would that help?
Well, peg those jeans, crimp that hair, and get ready to take a trip back to 1982. Because the answer to the question lies within the doors of Flynn’s Arcade. Yes, before you know it, you’ll be playing TRON and other classic 80s arcade games all night long!
Very soon, guests will have a chance to relive the days when PAC-MAN was king as our incredibly talented Imagineers at Walt Disney Imagineering have recreated Flynn’s Arcade from the upcoming film “TRON: Legacy” — exclusively for ElecTRONica at Disney California Adventure park.

Flynn’s Arcade, of course, was owned by Jeff Bridges’ character Kevin Flynn and was first seen in the original “TRON” film. Since Kevin Flynn’s disappearance in the late 80s, this fictional arcade has been boarded up and powered down…until now!
Here’s something else for you, since all the games in Flynn’s Arcade will require token use, we thought we would give you a look at how the game token went from concept and design…

My friend went to a 'dress rehearsal' last night and said it was a blast. Better than Glow Fest for sure in his opinion, but as far as I can see you can't do worse than Glow Fest (I wasn't a fan). Excited to check out elecTRONica though!

Tonight is the first night of ElecTRONica at Disney California Adventure park, and to get you ready to “rez in,” we’re sharing some photos and video from last night’s preview for cast members.

We’ve received a lot of questions on Facebook and Twitter about this weekend’s line-up, so hopefully these details help.
The fun starts in Sunshine Plaza at 6 p.m. when music, video, projections and a dance party welcome guests (a.k.a. Programs) and prepare them to enter the world of “TRON: Legacy.”
The second performance in Sunshine Plaza starts at 6:45 p.m., and following that, the portal will officially open and all aspects of ElecTRONica will be available, including Flynn’s Arcade, TRON: Legacy Exclusive 3-D Sneak Peek, End of Line club, face painting and the TRON: Evolution video game area.
There’s a great line-up of DJs this weekend. DJ GiangStar will be spinning tonight; DJ Michael Paul will change things up Saturday night, and DJ Derek Dunbar will be heating things up on Sunday evening.
This weekend you can see Laserman at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For future dates, check the show guide for the schedule.

Disney California Adventure is adding an extra night of its new “Tron”-themed entertainment experience on Tuesday (tonight.) ElecTRONica, the new night party based on the upcoming “Tron: Legacy” movie, originally was scheduled only on weekends this month. Read a full story about ElecTRONica. But Disney decided to put on an extra party Tuesday for guests of an unrelated, special event in the park, said John McClintock, a Disneyland Resort spokesman. General theme-park visitors, who are not part of the special event, are also allowed to participate in ElecTRONica.

The performances start at 6 p.m. in the Sunshine Plaza near the park entrance.

Tuesday nights are expected to be crowded in Disney California Adventure during October, when the next-door Disneyland closes early for after-hours, trick-or-treat parties, called Mickey’s Halloween Party. McClintock said he was unsure if more ElecTRONica nights will be added.

Just inside the portal as you enter the Grid, you will find a glowing refreshment station complete with drinks and snacks. But if you want to relax and re-energize in the heart of Tron City, you’ll want to head to the End of Line Club.
This ultra modern lounge is the perfect spot to get together and quench your thirst with an icy Coke Zero or Laser Light Lemonade. If desired, Programs of 21 years or more can select from a menu of our themed adult beverages.

We’ve had a lot of fun with meet-ups for Toy Story Mania and “World of Color,” and we’ve received some great comments from fans who liked the events. I’ve spoken with many of you and the one request I’ve heard over and over is: “Do more and include more people!” I’ve also noticed that a lot of you are excited about the upcoming Disney film, “TRON: Legacy” and the new ElecTRONica experience at Disney California Adventure park.
So, today, I’m announcing a meet-up on October 28, 2010, for 3000 people at ElecTRONica (that’s 1500 RSVPs each valid for 2 people). Given the large amount of attendees, this will certainly be different from the first two.
Here are some of the highlights:
Access to Disney California Adventure park at 4 p.m. and exclusive access to an after-hours ElecTRONica experience from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on October 28. (The Park closes at 8 p.m. on October 28, and ElecTRONica normally runs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays each week).
Opportunity to come decked out in your best TRON or TRON-inspired costume at this special event.
Signing opportunity with screenwriters for “TRON: Legacy,” Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. (This will be limited to 200 people. You may sign up for this opportunity when you check-in for the event on October 28).
Opportunity to view select props and concept art from “TRON: Legacy.”
Commemorative Flynn’s Arcade coin made just for attendees of this meet-up.
To attend, RSVP to meetups@disney.go.com and follow these directions carefully:
All guests who RSVP for the event must be 18 years or older, but your guest does not need to be 18.
Valid RSVPs must include 1) “ElecTRONica Meet-Up RSVP” in the subject line and 2) your name in the body of the email. All RSVPs will be for the person who responds plus one guest.
Valid photo I.D. will be required at check-in.
We will send an email to those who send their valid RSVP before we reach capacity to confirm their attendance for October 28. Depending on your email settings, you may not receive the confirmation email, so we recommend that you also check the list of attendees on the Disney Parks Blog. We will give an update at the top of this post that will include a link to the list of names of all confirmed attendees. That’s right! An amazing, full-scale model of a Light Cycle from Disney’s newest film “TRON: Legacy” will be featured inside the Grid of ElecTRONica starting Friday, November 12.
After making stops at San Diego’s Comic-Con and LA’s E3 Expo, the vehicle is here! As guests make their way to experience the “TRON: Legacy Exclusive 3D Sneak Peek,” the Light Cycle— an awesome replica of the bike that Sam Flynn rides in the movie— will be prominently on display. Take a picture or just take it in. Either way, this is very cool!

ElecTRONica runs Friday, Saturdays, Sundays and select holiday weeks only at Disney California Adventure park.

Local dance crew sensation, and the winner of Season 5’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” on MTV, Poreotics, will bring their fiercely entertaining mixed dance style to ElecTRONica, November 21 to 24.

Guests have had so much fun at ElecTRONica, the grid will be open all summer long at Disney California Adventure park!

ElectTRONica is a nighttime celebration that features music, live performances and interactive experiences, and it has become the place to dance the night away. Inspired by the computer-world environment of “TRON: Legacy,” ElecTRONica comes to life each evening in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot. The Disney film “TRON: Legacy” debuted in theaters in December, 2010.

Special featured acts continue to keep the experience fresh. Here are some current highlights of the party:

DJs keep the energy going with electronic party music while dancers costumed as “Sirens” and “Programs” from the movie rock out at locations throughout the party.

Dance Crews, including “We Are Heroes,” the first female dance crew to win MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew,” bring their signature moves to the Backlot Stage on selected nights.

Also appearing on the Backlot Stage is LASERMAN, demonstrating his unique talents and skill in a stunning performance that combines music, lights, and lasers.

An amazing, full-scale model of a Light Cycle from the Disney film “TRON: Legacy.”

A re-creation of Flynn’s Video Arcade, which was a key location in the “TRON: Legacy” adventure.

Gamers shoot for the highest scores as they enjoy classic 1980s arcade games. For ElecTRONica, you can find Flynn’s at the back of the party, near End of Line club.

Fun food items and glowing beverages.

did anyone get to keep any of the coins from FLYNN'S arcade? The machine dispensed silver ones...but i got a voucher from a fast pass machine for a coin, i gave the voucher to a cm; and in return she gave me a gold coin!!?? was anyone else's gold...??

I miss glow fest though...there were a lot more people dancing around and more Top 40 music that everyone has heard...elecTRONica has well electronic music some remixes thrown in but ya I liked Glow Fest better. The dancers for Glow Fest got more of the crowd into it. The dancers at ElecTRONica all seem like they are in their own little world filming a music video or something. Plus there's too much people watching and not enough dancing! And it's shoved into that corner...Glow Fest all the way! Like the Genie from the Aladdin show at DCA once said "it's like West Hollywood but with BABIES!"

I went to this experience and it wasn't really bumping at all, seeing people with the cool drinks was neat and the recreated arcade was cool too, but other than that it wasn't a great experience.

My wife is a huge TRON fan and was in heaven the night we spent at ElecTRONica. That was some of the most fun we had that entire trip. Honestly, I'm really disappointed that ElecTRONica is being eliminated. =\
