Not sure if anyone else picked up on this earlier today, but I asked Steven Miller on the Disney Parks blog (on his Steampunk post, hah) the status of the Toy Story release at both parks and D-Street, and he said August 27 (next Friday) if all goes "according to plan."

So it's tentative, but at least we have a date and something to look forward to, right? :)

We are looking for a August 27 release at D-Street in California and Florida, provided all goes according to plan. As soon as we confirm, we will post on http://www.disney.com/vinylmation

Will be good for these finally to be widely available. All I am looking for is a Buzz and a Woody and at the moment they are on ebay at horrendous prices. Once they are out at the parks and most ?Disney Stores the prices will go down to being reasonable.

Thanks for asking him the question. I did notice that he had answered questions yesterday on the Disney Parks blog, and was wondering why the VM blog hadn't been updated in so long.

Ooh, good question! I keep forgetting about the 9 inches for this series :bonk:

I only need about two of the 3", but I really want a 9" Little Green Men. Hopefully, they will be released close to the same time as the rest of the series.

It's about time!

I'm not interested in this series at all, except a few random ones, but I know a lot of people who are. Yay for them!

Thanks for sharing the info and asking the question that many of us have been axious to know. I can't wait for the Toy Story set to be available, hopefully they will still be around WDW when I visit.

It would be cool if the 9" are released as well, my hunch is probably later down the line... I guess we'll just have to find out in the upcoming week on the official VM blog.

When you think about it, this release should've come 2 months earlier. Luckily, I have a Disney Store 5 minutes away and already have the ones I wanted. Is it possible that Park 5 may be released at this time as well? The parks are desperate need of those with Park 4 being sold out and Park 3 being less popular.

Oh I'm so excited even more now heading to WDW for event and now can finally get Toy Story:happy: I've been very proud of myself holding off and waiting for them and not buying on ebay. It's been very hard considering I have the vinyl virus and also went thru a few withdrawls on top of that.:happy:

Do I have to be @ D-street right when they open to get a set or do you think I could pick one up after work? I've been waiting forever for these!

So far there hasn't been a full sell out on release day since D-Street has been the only location that has them initally. Now, it is Toy Story, but with Trade City going on and all the Vinylmation fans coming to town, I am sure they will try to keep a lot on hand at both D-Street and at the Vinylmation Showcase to meet the expected demand.

I agree! With everyone posting them for sale, I have had to take everything I have to stay away. I will trade, but not buy. lol.

That's my question too! I hope it's just the 3" ones, I don't think I'll be able to get up there early enough to get the 9" ones. I feel like I've been waiting for these for FOREVER! I've even had a space cleared out in my display case where they're going to be displayed, and I checked the other day and noticed it was collecting dust!!

I'm not taking any chances. I'm going to get their a little early in hopes I find a nice suprise when they open. Regardless if they have the 9" or not I'm still super stoked on getting the TS set!

Yeah it would be interesting to see how many TS cases they will have ready for Friday. I think they know that they've been "teasing" everyone by trickling a few boxes here and there at Disney Stores for a while now, so I guess there's a bit of pent-up demand... knowing how popular Pixar and TS characters are, they better be prepared for the "official" release at D-Street and Disney Parks.

Does anyone think that DLR and DTD will be sold out of full trays by let's say...the end of september?

because that's when i can go next

I don't think it will be "sold out" per se... just maybe out of stock at various times. I'm sure they'll keep getting new shipments. Releases seem to last a good amount of time, plus they will be available online starting Sept 8th.

I think that once people see these in the Parks they are going to fly off the shelves like hot cakes. TS is so popular with the general public I dont see these lasting very long. Plus they keep telling us its a limited release how many that means is all a mystery to us

They're already selling like hot cakes today at DLR D-Street!

was told by a member at dstreet that they only got in 105 cases and when they are out they are out. dont know if this is true but it should give an idea of how many cases and chasers are out there.

I thought these hadn't come out yet, but how come they've been on eBay for weeks? Does anyone know? I know sometimes people will post early anticipating a mass buy and sell, but people had these ready to ship.

Welcome to Vinylnation.net! Toy Story was initially released at some Disney Store locations in conjuction with the opening of the new Imagination Park Disney Stores, so that is why some are out there already. The theme parks are just getting them in.

They should actually have them for a while. It could be that they just meant that is all they got in for today's release, and if they sell out there won't be any more today. These are limited releases, not limited editions, so there should definitely be more on the way.

With these selling these so fast, do you think they'll still have them by the end of the month?

because if not i'll have to get these online...

When I went to get my Mr. Toad at WDW yesterday, they didn't have any Toy Story vinyls. The guy behind the counter told me that they sold out pretty quickly.
