Park Series #8 9″
Mamawantsvinyls:
I own very few 9 inch Vinylmation. For me, the price points have always seemed a tad ridiculous, so in order for me to buy one, the design needs to be outstanding. The Park Series #8 9″ designs just don’t hold my attention, and I doubt I’d even pick them up on sale.
It’s not to say that the designs were not well-executed, I’m just not personally invested in the themes. Yeti is amazingly intricate, but I have a prejudice against monsters that are taller than 3″. The Mickey Mouse Revue looks accurate, but accuracy doesn’t negate weirdity, so I’ll pass. The Contemporary Resort set is meh, and while the Castle cake certainly ...

The Vinylmation 95 Create Your Own (CYO) will be debuting at both D-Street locations on June 15th, the same day that VinylNation members will be able to pick up the Copper Abe Lincoln Park Starz variant and the 3″ Rhino with Hamster Ball from Animation Series #2.
Come June 15th, will you have a Vinylmation 95 CYO in your baskets, too, ‘Nation?

Have you ever just played with your vinyls? This feature is for you, the young at heart who keep the “toy” in art toy!
Admittedly, these pictures aren’t terribly recent (I now have many more current-mold vinyl heads available to swap onto Minnie’s body), but I recently found the set-aside draft of this feature, and it still tickled enough fancies to warrant being shared. Without further ado, I am pleased to present, “Fun With Vinyls – Florida Project Minnie.”

We all remember Florida Project Minnie. She wasn’t the cutest thing out there, and, alas, she did earn the moniker “Fat Minnie” in the immediate aftermath of her debut. It was the unfortunate placement of her face – it was too small and too central, thus making poor Minnie look rather jowly, as if she’d been overindulging in cheese since the WDW Preview Center’s closure. The concept was strong: what if Minnie had ...

In an announcement sure to rock the Vinylmation world to its core, we admittedly have trepidations about even announcing this next bit of news. We discussed it throughout the VinylNation offices, and we think you can handle it, ‘Nation. I argued you were all mature, rational people, so let’s try to keep it together. Deal? Okay.
… There is another new 9″ Vinylmation mold. [hides under the desk]
Debuting June 9th at the grand opening of the WonderGround Gallery in DLR D-Street, the new mold is dubbed “Vinylmation 95″ and is shaped like a famous “95″ you’ll all remember. See if you can guess:

Did you guess? See, I knew you had it; the Vinylmation 95 mold is indeed in the shape of the one and only Lightning McQueen.
The shown example is one of twenty-five one-of-a-kind pieces produced by VinylNation forum fave Noah, who will be on hand to sign his pieces from ...

Though we’ve known about Friday’s upcoming Park Series #8 9″ release for a little while now, Disney wanted to remind us all and maybe do a bit of teasing with some images of the individual pieces. Ergo, let’s take a look!
First up, check out the much-discussed 9/3 combo, the Contemporary resort and its monorail counterpart:

Designed by Lin Shih, the Contemporary/Monorail 9/3 combo will be limited to 2,000 pieces and retail for $89.95.
Next, take a look at a Vinylmation figure that collectors have predicted from the earliest history of the hobby, that pink Cinderella Castle cake from the Magic Kingdom’s 25th anniversary:

The 25th Anniversary Castle Cake, as designed by Mike Sullivan, will be limited to 1,000 pieces, and it will retail for $54.95.
Note that both of these additions to the Park Series #8 9″ vinyls are currently only slated be released at the WDW D-Street.

Today is Monday, May 28th, 2012. To many, it may just be another Monday. But to us Vinylmation collectors, it is a Monday that brings an end to a sometimes agonizing wait for a much anticipated series. A test of endurance that we have trudged through since we first heard the series would not make its initial January 30th target release date. A long period of months seeing the discussion thread pop up only to be saddened that a release date was still not in sight.
(Or, depending on the sort of Vinylmations you collect, it really is just another Monday…)
Today the Disney Store’s 25th Anniversary Light Up Series hits stores and even online for those who can’t make the Disney Store release. Here are the links to ordering them online:

Phineas and Ferb Series
Story:
Phineas and Ferb. I am not a fan of the show but in all fairness I have never given that show a chance. Disney Channel has saddened me with far too many original series, so I choose to be rather guarded towards anything that originates there. With that being said, from what I have seen of the characters and animation of the show, I think that the Vinylmation Team did a great job translating the characters to Mickey form.
jeffztt:
I’ve been looking forward to the Phineas and Ferb Series for a while now. Why? Agent P’s hat. That is the key to the whole series. That hat will look great on a number ...
